A team of 2 or more needs GlossGenius Gold, because Standard doesn’t include multiple service provider booking. For a solo artist, the fair comparison depends on what you need. Standard is cheaper, but Booksy’s single plan includes forms, a waitlist, and Reserve with Google, which GlossGenius only offers from Gold up.

Booksy: one price, everything included

Booksy charges $29.99 per month plus tax. Each additional team member is $20 per month. Booksy says all features are included: online booking, client and calendar management, custom forms and liability waivers, Reserve with Google, waitlists, no-show protection, online gift cards, memberships and packages, and reporting. There are no booking fees and no commitment. Appointment confirmations and reminders are always free, and plans include 2,000 SMS marketing messages a month.

Booksy is also a consumer marketplace. Listing is included, and Booksy says it doesn’t take a commission on new clients who find you online or through your own marketing. The exception is Boost. If you turn it on, you pay a one-time fee of 30% of a Boost client’s first visit, up to $100. On a $70 first-time service, that’s $21.

Card readers are sold separately: the Stripe Reader M2 is $53.10 and the S710 is $299, plus shipping.

GlossGenius: tiered plans that scale by team

GlossGenius Standard covers deposits, card-on-file and no-show policies, a booking site, gift cards, memberships, packages, inventory, and unlimited emails. Gold adds multi-provider booking, Google Booking, a waitlist, forms (per the plan list), resource booking, time clock tools, chargeback protection, and 500 marketing texts. Payroll ($40/mo + $6 per seat) and Reception AI ($50/mo) are paid add-ons. Data transfer is free. See GlossGenius pricing for the full plan table.

Card fees on a typical week

Say a solo artist takes 25 in-person payments of $80 a week, which is $2,000.

RateWeekly fees
GlossGenius 2.4% + $0.15$51.75
Booksy Card Reader 2.49% + $0.10$52.30
Booksy Tap to Pay 2.49% + $0.20$54.80

The difference is small. Payout timing and how often you need instant transfers usually matter more: Booksy charges 1.5% for a 30-minute payout, and GlossGenius charges 1.8% for an instant one.
