The two ways to set this up

Booth rental salons usually run software one of two ways.

  1. One salon account, renters added as staff. The owner pays for the account, renters show up on a shared calendar and booking site, and the software keeps each renter’s money and clients separate. This works best when the salon brand is the front door.
  2. Every renter on their own account. Each renter pays for their own subscription and processing, and the owner just collects rent. This works best for suites and independent renters who already have their own client list and booking link.

The tools below handle the first setup in different ways. Any of them also works for the second.

Vagaro’s Rent Collection lets the owner:

Renters don’t have to be service providers for you to collect rent from them.

The fees are worth understanding before you switch it on. Rent paid by credit or debit card is charged the keyed-in fee of 3.5% + $0.19 per payment. US owners can instead collect by bank account (ACH) at 1% per payment. If a renter’s bank payment fails, the owner pays $2.50. Rent Collection requires Vagaro card processing.

GlossGenius: separate bank accounts on a flat plan

Source: https://glossgenius.com/pricing

The GlossGenius plan comparison lists “separate bank accounts for booth renters” on Gold and Platinum, but not Standard. Gold is $48/mo billed annually ($56 monthly) and is positioned for businesses of up to 9 staff. Platinum ($148/mo annually) is for teams of 10 or more and adds customizable commissions, which matter in hybrid salons where some people earn commission and others pay rent. Card rates are the same on every plan: 2.4% + $0.15 in person and 2.9% + $0.30 for online invoicing. The pricing page doesn’t describe a rent collection tool, so plan to collect rent some other way.

Mangomint: built for hybrid salons

Source: https://www.mangomint.com/pricing

Mangomint’s pricing FAQ says it supports booth renter and hybrid models with “unique booking links, multiple payment accounts, client ownership settings, and the ability for your renters to sell their own products all under a single Mangomint account.” Any renter using the account counts as a user, at $10/mo each, on top of $120/mo per location. A salon with 2 employees, 4 renters, and a front desk person pays $120 + 7 × $10 = $190/mo. Mangomint has no contracts, and onboarding and data transfer are free. Deposits and cards on file require Mangomint’s payment processing (2.45% + 15¢ in person).

Booksy and renter-owned accounts

Source: https://biz.booksy.com/en-us/pricing

Booksy has one plan: $29.99/mo plus tax, with every feature included and $20/mo for each extra team member. Many renters prefer their own account, so their client list, reviews, and payouts stay theirs if they move salons. With Booksy, a renter gets online booking, forms, a waitlist, 2,000 marketing texts a month, and a Booksy Marketplace listing. Payouts the next business day are free. If a renter turns on Boost, they pay a one-time fee of 30% of each Boost client’s first visit, capped at $100.
